Guided Notes
Key concepts students will learn:
- •
When sculpting in Blender, it is easier to use a graphics display tablet or a graphics tablet, but you can still achieve similar results with a mouse.
- •
Before sculpting, it is important to replace the default cube with an icosphere and increase the subdivisions to around four for more detail.
- •
The grab brush is useful for manipulating the basic shape, while the snake hook tool is useful for pulling out features like ears, and the crease polish brush is useful for adding details like wrinkles.

Exit Ticket
“Using Blender, create a basic head shape from an icosphere in sculpt mode. Use the grab brush to pull out a nose, indent eye sockets, and generally define the head shape. Remesh as needed to maintain detail. What voxel size did you find worked best for the initial shaping?”
