Writing with PEEL Paragraphs

6th Gradeβ€’50 minutesβ€’CCSS CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.6.2

Learning Objective

I can write a paragraph using the PEEL method (Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link).

Key Concepts

The PEEL technique can help you write body paragraphs, where P stands for point, E stands for elaboration, the next E stands for example or evidence, and L stands for link.

The point of your body paragraph should be stated in your topic sentence.

When using the PEEL technique, the point and link stay in the same place, but the elaboration and evidence sections are interchangeable.
