Cellular Nutrient Uptake and Waste Removal
Learning Objective
I can describe how cells obtain nutrients and eliminate waste.
Key Concepts
Vitamins are organic compounds that we need to ingest in small amounts to keep our bodies functioning properly.
Vitamins come in two types: lipid-soluble and water-soluble, which determines how the body transports, stores, and gets rid of any excess.
Unlike water-soluble vitamins, fat-soluble vitamins need proteins to transport them into the blood and around the body.
