Key Concepts
The Hanukkah story tells of how the Maccabees chased the Greeks out of the Jewish temple.
During Hanukkah, it is tradition to eat sufganiyot (jelly donuts) and latkes.
The miracle of Hanukkah is that the oil in the temple lasted for eight days, so we light a candle on the menorah for each of those eight nights.
