The most common form for linear equations is slope-intercept form, where the equation contains both the slope and y-intercept.

In the equation y=mx+b, the slope is represented by m, and the y-intercept is represented by b.

When an equation is written in slope-intercept form, it may be helpful to reorganize the equation so that the x term comes first.
