Plotting Points to Find Domain and Range
Learning Objective
I can plot points and use them to identify the domain and range of a function.
Key Concepts
The x-axis is horizontal, while the y-axis is vertical on a coordinate plane.
When plotting points, the x coordinate always comes first, and the y coordinate comes second in the ordered pair.
To plot the point (4, 7), start at the origin, move right 4 units on the x-axis, and then move up 7 units on the y-axis.
Practice Questions
This lesson includes 12 practice questions to reinforce learning.

1. What is the first coordinate in an ordered pair, and what direction does it tell you to move from the origin?
2. If a point has a y-coordinate of 0, where is it located?
3. Describe the steps you would take to plot the point (-2, 5) on a coordinate plane.
