Slope and Segment Addition

10th Gradeβ€’60 minutes

Learning Objective

I can calculate the slope of a line and apply the segment addition postulate to solve geometric problems.

Key Concepts

To find a point that is one-fourth of the way between two points, first find the midpoint between the two points, then find the midpoint between the starting endpoint and the midpoint you just found.

When finding a point one-third of the way, you must first find the midpoint between the given endpoint and the point that is one-third of the way through.

After finding the midpoint, you can use that point and the point one-third of the way to solve for the midpoint of the line.
