Spotting Tricky Food Labels
Learning Objective
I can identify deceptive claims on food labels.
Key Concepts
Many food companies use claims on the front of packaging to lure consumers into purchasing the product, so it is important to ignore these claims.
The ingredients of a product are listed by quantity from highest to lowest, so the first three ingredients make up the biggest part of what you'll be eating.
Serving size is the amount of food typically eaten at one time, but it is not a recommendation of how much to eat or drink, and one package may contain more than one serving.
