10th Grade90 minutes

Learning Objective

I can simplify polynomial expressions by adding, subtracting, and multiplying.

Key Concepts

When adding polynomials, you can stack them and combine like terms, paying attention to the signs of each term.

When multiplying polynomials with the same base, you add the exponents: xᵃ * xᵇ = xᵃ⁺ᵇ.

To simplify fractions with polynomials, factor the numerator and denominator and then cancel out any common factors.
