The fraction 2/5 can be represented as 2 times 1/5, which means having two 1/5s added together.
3 times 2/5 is the same as 3 times 2 times 1/5, which equals 6 times 1/5, or 6/5.
3 times 2/5 can also be seen as 3 times (1/5 + 1/5), which means adding six 1/5s together, resulting in 6/5.
