Two-Digit Subtraction with Renaming
Learning Objective
I can subtract two-digit numbers with renaming (borrowing).
Key Concepts
When subtracting, if the digit on the top is smaller than the digit on the bottom, you need to borrow from the place value to the left.
When borrowing, you may need to borrow from several place values over until you get to a digit that is not zero.
In a subtraction problem, the top number is called the minuend, the number being subtracted is the subtrahend, and the answer is the difference.
