Penguin Adaptations

6th Grade44 minutes

Learning Objective

I can describe the physical adaptations that help penguins survive in their environment.

Key Concepts

When adding fractions with unlike denominators, the first step is to find a common denominator by determining the least common multiple of the denominators.

To rename a fraction, multiply both the numerator and the denominator by the same number to create an equivalent fraction with the common denominator.

Once the fractions have a common denominator, add the numerators and keep the denominator the same, then simplify the fraction if possible.
