Using the Present Progressive Tense
Learning Objective
I can form present progressive tense verbs using "is," "are," or "am" with verbs ending in -ing.
Key Concepts
The present continuous tense is formed using the present simple form of the verb "to be" (am, is, are) and adding -ing to the end of the main verb.
We use the contracted form of "to be" in everyday speech, such as "I'm," "you're," "he's," "she's," "we're," and "they're" when using the present continuous.
The present continuous tense is used to describe actions happening right now, to talk about things you are currently doing in your life, and to talk about a planned event in the future.
