Adding Multi-Digit Numbers with Regrouping
Learning Objective
I can add multi-digit numbers with regrouping to solve problems.
Key Concepts
When adding multi-digit numbers, we "carry" a number to the next place value column when the sum of the digits in a column is greater than or equal to 10.
When you have a sum greater than nine in a place value column, you regroup the value by placing the ones digit in the current column and carrying the tens digit to the next column.
You can check your addition by subtracting one of the addends from the sum to see if it equals the other addend.
Practice Questions
This lesson includes 3 practice questions to reinforce learning.
