Key Concepts
The word percent means parts per 100, and the percent sign is used to denote a percentage.
To convert a fraction to a decimal, you should perform division, and to convert a decimal to a percent, you can write it as a fraction with a denominator of 100.
A percent is always a number compared to 100, so p percent as a fraction is always p/100.
