Learning Objective

I can evaluate the effectiveness of different brain break strategies for improving focus and productivity. I can select an appropriate brain break for what elementary students need.

Key Concepts

Triggers are stressful things that cause emotions to run wild, such as losing a game, embarrassment, or chores.

To manage big emotions, first notice and identify your feelings, then think about coping skills, and finally take action by practicing those skills.

Coping skills can be broken down into four categories: relaxation, distraction, movement, and thinking skills.
