Learning Objective

I can add and subtract integers using a number line.

When adding a positive number, you are essentially just adding, so two plus signs can be changed to a single addition sign.

When subtracting a negative number, you are actually just adding, so you can change the two minus signs to an addition sign.

When the signs next to each other are the same, we add; when the signs next to each other are different, we subtract.
