Dividing Numbers with Place Value
Learning Objective
I can divide multi-digit numbers by one-digit divisors using strategies based on place value.
Key Concepts
Long division breaks up a bigger division problem into a series of short division steps.
In long division, you divide digit-by-digit, starting with the digit in the biggest number place and working from left to right.
If the number is too small to divide into, you just put a zero in the answer line and move on to the next digit.
