How Teachers Use Insta~Lesson

Easier Lesson Planning

At the start of each week, Nora builds Insta~Lessons for each of her lessons. Each lesson takes around 10 minutes to generate, review, and edit.

Nora lets students complete these lessons at their own paces, and uses our tracker template to:

Monitor student progress
Facilitate collaboration
Provide targeted support

The next week, students start fresh on a new series of Insta~Lessons. And they can always go back and catch up on lessons they missed!

Easier Sub Plans

Jason coaches basketball, so he often needs to leave school early. When he has a sub, he just creates an Insta~Lesson and tells students to complete it before the next class.

This way, his students keep learning when he isn’t there. And subs love his class because Jason’s students can teach themselves!

Easier Makeup Work

Alison’s students are often absent. It’s challenging when they return to class, because they have missed out on instruction.

So Alison creates Insta~Lessons for each of her lessons, and has them whenever chronically absent students come back to class. That makes it easy to engage chronically absent students, and helps those students catch right back up.

Many of Alison’s students have started completing their Insta~Lessons at home, too!

Easier Extension Activities

A few of Maria’s students are really advanced. It’s hard for Maria to plan daily lessons AND extensions for her high flyers.

So Maria creates Insta~Lessons on extension topics that interest her advanced students. (Sometimes, she even lets students create Insta~Lessons themselves!) This keeps all of her students challenged, every day.

David's mom is sick, and he has been taking care of her every day after school. That doesn't leave much time for planning.

David creates Insta~Lessons each afternoon before leaving school, so he's all set for the next day. He can spend the time with his mother without worrying about the next day's lesson.
